WHAT TO EXPECT?
We begin in the Condesa neighborhood, where we’ll pick you up and head to a charming rural town surrounded by rivers, forests, and lush green mountains. Your hosts, Luis and his uncle Aurelio, will welcome you like family. Aurelio is not just any guide — he’s a professional charro with decades of experience in Mexican equestrian traditions. With his guidance, you'll learn the best tips and techniques for riding, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider.
Our horses are specially trained — elegant enough for show, yet gentle and responsive for mountain trails, making them truly unique. You’ll feel both safe and inspired as you bond with these incredible animals.
The journey begins with a scenic horseback ride through the town’s colorful streets and hidden alleys. We’ll stop at a local spot to pick up fresh tortillas and other ingredients for our meal, then head into the mountains. Our trail takes us through hills, open plains, a small river, and winding forest paths — a side of Mexico City most visitors never get to see.
When we reach our family’s rustic mountain cabin, you’ll smell the firewood before you see it — the signal that it’s time to cook. Aprons on, fire lit — the second part of our day begins.
Led by our grandmother, we’ll prepare a variety of traditional dishes using ancestral techniques and fresh, local ingredients. From salsas (verde and roja), to tlacoyos, gorditas, tortillas, and sopes, every dish tells a story — and you’ll be part of it. It’s not just a cooking class; it’s a journey into the heart of Mexican heritage.
After a shared lunch filled with flavor and laughter, we’ll ride back down the trail — about 40 minutes of tranquil horseback riding, surrounded by nature and memories made.
More than just a ride or a class, this day is about learning, connecting, and celebrating. With expert guidance, amazing food, and unforgettable scenery, you’ll leave with new skills, new stories, and a heart full of Mexico.
🌟 Don’t just take our word for it — read what our guests have to say and come live it for yourself.
Come for the horses. Stay for the fire. Leave with a full heart (and full stomach).
